Major action of BSF: Large batch of weapons captured in Mizoram; 3 arrested militants

The Border Security Force (BSF) arrested three militants in Mizoram on secret information, from which 28 AK 47 rifles, one AK 74 rifle, one American shooting gun 28 magazines and 7800 cartridges were recovered.
Border Security Force (BSF) has got a big success in North East. On the basis of secret information, BSF personnel arrested three militants in Mizoram last night. 28 AK 47 rifles, an AK 74 rifle, an American shooting gun, 28 magazines, and about 7800 cartridges have been recovered from these militants. The militants kept this huge stock of weapons hidden in the intelligence box under the seat of a jeep.
It is the largest consignment of weapons captured in the North East in recent years. Officers of the Intelligence Department of the BSF were informed that a large cache of arms from Myanmar has arrived in India, which is going to be used for violent activities in areas of the North East including Mizoram.
Based on this information, BSF took action. The militants were identified and their activities monitored and then raided.
This raid took place in the Fulden area of the Mamit district of Mizoram. Along with catching the militants, when the jeep was closely scrutinized, a box-like cellar was seen under the middle seat, in which weapons were loaded.
When the weapons were taken out, it was found that inside the box there are not one or two but 29 rifles, out of which 28 are AK-47 rifles, one rifle is of AK-74 series. Usually, the AK-47 series weapons are used for terrorist activities all over the world. The shooting gun that has been recovered.
Along with this large consignment of arms, cash was also recovered from the militants. BSF took this big action last night. The 90th BSF battalion is stationed in Fulden area within the Aizawl sector.
After capturing the militants, they have been handed over to the local police. Further investigation is going on in this case. The three arrested militants are associated with the National Liberation Front of Tripura, or NLFT, a militant organization.
The new BSF DG Rakesh Asthana has launched a campaign against smuggling of drugs and weapons as soon as he takes charge. Under this, the intelligence branch inside the BSF is being strengthened.
At the same time, vigil is being increased continuously on the border with the help of electronic equipment. This is the reason that in recent weeks, large quantities of drugs like heroin as well as weapons have been recovered from all the border states including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab.
