Coronavirus (Covid-19) India Lockdown News Updates: India reported over 3 lakh cases of the novel coronavirus on Thursday, the highest daily increase in infections the country has recorded in the pandemic so far. There were 2,104 deaths counted on the same day, another record for India.

Coronavirus India Updates:  The Delhi High Court has begun hearing the petition filed by Max Hospital highlighting acute oxygen deficiency in the national capital. During the hearing today, the Delhi government the court that court it’s practically impossible to bring oxygen quickly to Delhi from distant places. “Since morning we have been getting SOS calls from hospitals; at some places, we are not in hours but minutes,” the government added. On Wednesday, the court had come down strongly on the Centre, saying it seemed that “human lives are not that important… for the state.”

Earlier today, taking suo motu cognisance of the prevailing covid-19 pandemic situation in the country, the Supreme Court asked the Centre to put in place a national policy on issues relating to the supply of oxygen, essential drugs and method of vaccination.

India reported over 3 lakh cases of the novel coronavirus on Thursday, the highest daily increase in infections the country has recorded in the pandemic so far. No country has recorded more cases in a single day. There were 2,104 deaths reported on the same day, another record for India. With 3,14,835 new cases, the total infections stand at 1,59,30,965. The toll, meanwhile, stands at 1,84,657.

Meanwhile, polling is underway in West Bengal in the midst of the unprecedented Covid-19 surge. West Bengal registered its highest-ever single-day spike, with 9,819 people testing positive.
