Large number of children being infected by Corona is worrisome, said Gehlot l Union Government should have made a roadmap for vaccination much earlier
Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday, described the Corona infection as ‘Behrupiya’ (polymorphic) as Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier used the term for the virus.
“Corona is like a Behrupiya. Whosoever has said this about it, is right. It is important to be vigilant at all times.
We are conducting ‘Door-to-door’ surveys in villages. Lockdown has also been extended. Now public awareness is important.
The Covid-19 pandemic has also reached children. A large number of children are testing positive in various districts.
I took the figures this morning only,” Gehlot said, while speaking at the virtual foundation stone laying ceremony programme of the 30 km long road projects in the Viratnagar area.
Gehlot said till now, vaccinations in the country has been free, but this time, the Government of India has put the onus for this on the states.
The Union Government should have made a roadmap for vaccination much earlier, but could not make it. “We have 15-20 companies making vaccines here. There was no emphasis on getting the vaccine on time and making it in the country.
Sonia Gandhi and former PM Dr Manmohan Singh also wrote to the PM to focus on vaccination, but no attention was paid. Had the vaccination been on time, we would have survived the crisis,” he said.
In the second wave, more young people are dying because the elderly have been vaccinated. Now children will be more affected by the third wave as such the biggest focus should be on vaccination.
Gehlot said only treatment in hospitals cannot abolish Corona. The real battle will be won in the field and it is necessary to follow and take care of the Corona protocol.
“I myself tested Corona positive but due to two doses of vaccines it was mild and I could be saved,” he said.
A lot of deaths are being reported this time due to Corona. The Rajasthan Government has made arrangements to bear the expenses of the funeral of the Covid victims.
On the other hand, dead bodies are being thrown into the Ganges in UP and Bihar. “The country is becoming infamous in the world,” he alleged.
