Stray Dog Takes Former Mayor’s Shoes, Aurangabad Civic Body Responds with Sterilization

In a peculiar incident, the Aurangabad civic body took action after a former mayor reported that a stray dog had taken his shoes from near the entrance of his house. The event unfolded on the night of June 12th at the residence of ex-mayor Nandkumar Ghodele in the Nakshatrawadi area.
According to a civic official, it was discovered that Ghodele’s house gate had been accidentally left open, allowing a stray dog to enter the premises and snatch the footwear from the vicinity of the main door. Promptly, on the following day, the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) dispatched a team to capture the stray dogs in the area.
The team successfully caught four stray dogs from the vicinity where Ghodele resides. To prevent further issues caused by these dogs, a sterilization procedure known as a vasectomy was performed on them. This measure aims to control the stray dog population and minimize any potential disturbances caused by them.
A civic body official clarified that whenever complaints regarding troublesome stray dogs are received, the authority dispatches teams to capture and sterilize them. This procedure is part of the routine protocol followed by the Aurangabad civic body to address such concerns. However, ex-mayor Ghodele has not yet provided any comments regarding the incident or the subsequent actions taken by the civic body.
This incident highlights the efforts made by local authorities to manage the stray dog population and address public complaints related to their behavior. The sterilization procedure serves as a preventive measure to mitigate future issues, ensuring a safer and more harmonious coexistence between humans and stray dogs in the city.
