Monsoon Consulting CEO Bharat Sharma is invited to share his thoughts on ‘Role of Diaspora Youth in AKAM – Innovation and New Technologies’ alongside Hon’ble Minister of State of External Affairs, CEO NITI Aayog, CEO Flipkart, and other eminent business leaders at ‘Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Conference’ held on 9th January 2022
Bharat Sharma is the Founder & CEO of Monsoon Consulting which is Europe’s leading eCommerce & digital transformation company. He was born and raised in Jaipur, Rajasthan in a traditional middle-class family and attended a Hindi medium school, and had no family overseas connections prior to moving to Europe.
He completed his Computer Engineering in 1996 from the Engineering College of Kota, Rajasthan. While in India he worked with companies like TCS as an Oracle programmer and after moving to Europe he was working as an Oracle contractor in various locations in UK & Ireland. His last position before working as an entrepreneur was in a European Union Agencies’ IT department in Dublin.
He founded a Mobile Tech company called ‘MewIQ’ and he also founded Indiaresult.com while he was in India which was one of the largest result broadcasting platforms in India.
Today he is the Founder & CEO of Monsoon Consulting.
Monsoon Consulting is Europe’s leading eCommerce & digital transformation solution provider. Their commerce technology powers over €900 Million in transaction value per annum for their clients and they are known for Enterprise size Complex B2B eCommerce Expertise. Monsoon Consulting have offices in Dublin(Ireland), UK(London, Belfast), Portugal(Lisbon) & Ukraine(Kiev).
As a business Monsoon Consulting is moving from an IT Services company to more of a product platform company. We just recently launched a product called ‘APEX’ which is a B2B eCommerce product with very strong innovation and cutting edge features including Conversational commerce, Artificial Intelligence and Chatbots. This project is partially funded by European Union Government R&D Grants
Bharat shared his thoughts to the youth of India about how to make the best of opportunities in these key pointers:
Be niche/ Be specific, Be Transparent: Say No if needed, Be ready to localize, Be interoperable, Be prepared, Be passionate, Be social, Be innovative, Be Confident & take your chances.
Bharat also talked about the Government of India policies and appreciated so many initiatives by the government so far. He said he would like to see more of a focus promoting on R&D Intellectual based wealth. The other initiative he talked about is India’s Data Protection Laws with a suggestion that we should try and align the laws with the most advanced industrial countries like the US & European Union and aim to achieve compliances like GDPR adequacy.
The most important part for Bharat now is that we are doing well, we can use IPL Analogy and open the doors for worldwide talent to come to India to work and research and they can share their expertise to further empower our youth.
