Kerala Introduces ‘Queer-Friendly’ Hospitals in Landmark Inclusivity Initiative
In a pioneering move aimed at promoting inclusivity and safeguarding the rights of transgender and queer individuals, the Kerala government is launching a groundbreaking ‘Queer-Friendly Hospital Initiative’ in the state. Health Minister Veena George shared the government’s vision for a healthcare system that is open to all, irrespective of gender identity. The ‘Queer-Friendly Hospital Initiative’ will initially be introduced in four districts: Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Kozhikode. The Transgender Community Link Worker (CLW) project has been launched as part of this ambitious endeavor.
