Congress Alleges Arrested DRDO Official, Accused of Spying for Pakistan, is an Active RSS Volunteer

The Congress party has made allegations that Pradeep Kurulkar, the DRDO official who was recently arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan, is an active volunteer of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Kurulkar, who is the Director of R&D (Engineering) at DRDO, was arrested by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) last week and his police custody has been extended till May 15 for further investigation.
At a press conference, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera stated that Kurulkar’s association with the RSS goes back generations and claimed that Kurulkar’s arrest exposes the “anti-national face” of the RSS. Khera also shared a video showing Kurulkar addressing RSS events with top Sangh functionaries in attendance.
The Congress party has demanded answers from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the relationship between Kurulkar and the RSS, as the matter pertains to national security. The allegations made by the Congress have not yet been addressed by the RSS.
According to an ATS official, Kurulkar was allegedly in touch with an agent of a “Pakistan Intelligence Operative” through WhatsApp and video calls and the case is being treated as a honeytrap. Kurulkar’s arrest has raised concerns about the security of sensitive information in India’s defense establishment and the need for stricter measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
